There are some people you meet and instantly feel at ease around.

Tammy is one of those people.

I had the opportunity to photograph Tammy Reid, owner of Indigo Events, at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC—and from the moment we started, it just felt easy. She has this calm, welcoming presence that you know would make any bride feel taken care of.

And honestly… that’s exactly what branding photos should do.

Not just “look good,” but feel like you.

Why Branding Photos Matter for Wedding Planners

If you’re planning a wedding, you’re not just hiring someone to organize details—you’re trusting someone with one of the biggest days of your life.

That’s a big deal.

And when potential clients land on your website or social media, they’re asking one question (even if they don’t realize it):

“Can I trust this person with my day?”

Tammy’s session was all about answering that question visually.

  • Warm, genuine smiles

  • Relaxed, natural posing

  • A mix of professional and approachable

  • Movement and candid moments

Because the goal isn’t perfection—it’s connection.

Why Tanglewood Park Was the Perfect Location

Tanglewood Park is one of my favorite spots in the Clemmons area for a reason.

It gives you so much variety without having to travel far:

  • Beautiful greenery and natural backdrops

  • Walking paths that create depth and interest

  • Garden structures and archways for framing

  • Soft, filtered light (especially this time of year)

For Tammy, it was the perfect mix of polished and natural—exactly what you want for a wedding and event planner brand.

Creating a Natural, Approachable Brand

One of the things I focus on during branding sessions is helping people feel like themselves.

Because most business owners will say:
“I’m awkward in photos.”
“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”
“I just want it to feel natural.”

That’s where I come in.

With Tammy, we focused on:

  • Simple prompts instead of stiff posing

  • Movement (walking, turning, interacting)

  • Real laughter instead of forced smiles

  • Small adjustments that make a big difference

And the result?

Photos that feel like her—not a version of her trying to “look professional.”

For Business Owners Thinking About Branding Photos

If you’ve been putting this off, you’re not alone.

But here’s what I want you to know:

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You don’t need a perfectly curated brand.
You don’t need to “be good in photos.”

You just need to show up.

Because the right images will:

  • Help people connect with you faster

  • Build trust before you even speak

  • Give you content you can actually use consistently

  • Make your business feel more established and intentional
